Overview of Tuition and Mandatory Fees

麻花视频's Schedule of Fees outlines the costs associated with enrollment for each academic term. Tuition is charged based on the number of credit hours a student registers for, with full-time students typically paying a flat rate within a designated credit hour range. In addition to tuition, students are responsible for mandatory fees that support campus services and student activities. Health insurance is also a required charge unless a student provides proof of alternative coverage, and student-athletes are automatically enrolled in the college's plan. Students may incur additional charges if they exceed the standard course load or register late.

Additional Fees, Housing, and Meal Plans

The fee schedule also includes costs related to housing, dining, and other campus services. Students can choose from various housing options, with pricing differences based on room type and amenities. Meal plan options are available to suit different lifestyles, including full-access and block plans. New students are responsible for one-time fees related to orientation and enrollment. Other possible charges include parking permits, course-specific fees (such as labs or art supplies), graduation expenses, and administrative services like transcript requests. This comprehensive structure ensures students and families are informed of the potential costs associated with attending 麻花视频.

What is the 1098-T form?

The 1098-T form is the Tuition Payment Statement that 麻花视频 uses to
report qualified tuition and related education expenses to you and the IRS. The
information within the tax form pertains to the calendar year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31st). You or your parent/guardian may be eligible to claim tax credits such as the American Opportunity Tax Credits or the Lifetime Learning Tax Credit for educational expenses. To review additional information about the two tax credits, visit Education Credits AOTC LLC | Internal Revenue Services (irs.gov). For questions related to this form, please contact your tax prepared for more information.

Please note the 1098T is not generated for all students.

• If your scholarships and grants (Box 5) were greater than your reportable payments (Box 1), we are not required to report anything to the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) nor generate a 1098T tax form.

• If we do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) on file for you, a form will not be generated

You may view and download your 1098T through the student payment portal
(TigerPay). Follow the instructions below to access your form. You may also view the pdf that provides screenshots of how to access the form.

2. Select the Banner Web icon
3. Select the Student Account icon
4. Select the TigerPay icon
5. TigerPay will open
6. On the left-hand side menu click 鈥淭ax Forms鈥� to view the 1098-T form

If you are a former student and cannot access MyPortal, please send an email to studentfinancialservices@morehouse.edu to request a copy. The College only retains copies of this form for three previous tax years.

What is the 1042-S Form?

The 1042-S form is a tax document used by the U.S. government. It reports certain types of income paid to non-U.S. citizens (also known as nonresident aliens) that  are subject to U.S. taxes. This form is specifically for non-citizens who received income such as:

• Scholarships or grants that cover more than tuition (like housing or meals)
• You received a scholarship or fellowship that covered things other than tuition (books, housing, travel, etc.).
• You worked on campus or had a research/teaching assistant position, and taxes were withheld differently because of your visa status or a tax treaty between your home country and the U.S.

麻花视频 Tuition Refund Policy 鈥� Semester Withdrawal 

Purpose: To provide clear guidelines for tuition refunds when a student withdraws from all courses during a semester. 

Scope: This policy applies to all students at 麻花视频 withdrawing from all courses for a semester. Refunds for individual course withdrawals are not covered by this policy. 

Policy: Refunds are calculated based on the date the withdrawal form is received by the Office of Registration and Records, not the student鈥檚 last date of attendance.  Students may submit withdrawals through: - Self-Service Banner Web, or - Online Course Withdrawal Form (if unable to access Banner Web).  All fees are non-refundable after the 100% refund period.

Responsibility: Students are responsible for submitting withdrawal forms in a timely manner to ensure proper refund processing.

Important: - Refunds are based on when your withdrawal form is received, not your last day in class. - Use Banner Web or the online Course Withdrawal Form to submit your withdrawal. - This applies to all courses for the semester, not single classes. 

Tips for Students 

• Submit your withdrawal form as soon as possible to maximize your refund. 

• All fees are non-refundable after the 100% refund week. 

• Keep a copy of your withdrawal confirmation for your records. 

Refund Calendar

The Refund Calendar outlines a bi-weekly schedule during each academic term (summer, fall, spring) when students with credit balances can expect refunds to be processed. These scheduled refund dates help students plan financially and monitor their account activity. While dates are predetermined for the entire academic year, they are subject to occasional adjustments, and all students are encouraged to check TigerPay regularly for the most current information. 

Furthermore, the College strongly recommends enrolling in direct deposit as the fastest, most secure refund delivery method. For those who opt to receive paper checks and encounter issues鈥攕uch as a lost check鈥攕tudents can submit a stop-payment request after a specified waiting period. The Refund Calendar, together with policies on delayed disbursements and check replacements, provides transparency and guidance to support effective financial planning.

Follow these steps to sign up for direct deposit:

1. Download the Student Financial Services Direct Deposit Form
2. Complete the form
3. Either email the form and all required documents to studentfinancialservices@morehouse.edu or drop them off in-person at the Bursar Office, located in Gloster Hall room 200.
