The Frederick Douglass Academic Success Center (FDASC) provides free academic support to all Â黨ÊÓƵ students through Peer Tutoring and 24/7 On-Demand Tutoring.

Our tutoring services are designed to help students strengthen course comprehension, build effective study strategies, and improve academic confidence.

Peer Tutoring

FDASC offers peer tutoring each academic year beginning in September during the Fall semester and continuing through the Spring semester.

Peer tutoring appointments are scheduled through Starfish.

To book a peer tutor:

1. Log into your Â黨ÊÓƵ Portal
2. Open Starfish
3. Select Services
4. Click Tutoring

Students will only see tutors assigned to courses they are currently enrolled in.

For example:

• If you are enrolled in College Algebra I and a tutor is assigned to College Algebra I, that tutor will appear as an option.
• If you are enrolled in Finite Mathematics and no tutor is currently assigned to that course, no tutoring options will appear.

Tutor availability is based on course coverage and semester staffing.

If you do not see a tutor listed for your course, we encourage you to use our 24/7 tutoring option through Tutor.com.

24/7 On-Demand Tutoring (Tutor.com)

Through our institutional partnership with Tutor.com, all Â黨ÊÓƵ students have access to free on-demand tutoring directly inside Canvas.

To access Tutor.com:

1. Log into Canvas
2. Select any course
3. On the left-hand course menu, locate Tutor.com
4. Click to connect with a tutor

Tutor.com provides academic support anytime, day or night, making it a great option for immediate assistance or courses not currently covered by peer tutoring.

Important Information

• All tutoring services are free and covered by Â黨ÊÓƵ.
• Peer tutoring availability varies by semester.
• Students are encouraged to schedule early, as appointment times may fill quickly.
• Tutor coverage is based on active course enrollment and tutor availability.
